Shot list software for film

Build the shot list scene by scene with the script beside it, then lay the same shots out by shoot day. The schedule and the call sheet read the estimates from there.

The whole crew works in the same list, on set or off, with or without signal.

Two views of the same shots

Script order for building the list, shoot-day order for planning the days. A change in one is a change in the other.

Shots are numbered 1A, 1B, 2A and renumber themselves when you move one.

Frames on every shot

Add images to a shot and the storyboard shows them in a line or in a grid, with the shot data under each frame.

Reorder frames on the storyboard and the shot list follows.

Estimates that build the day

Give a shot a time and each scene's total reaches the schedule and the call sheet. When a scene has more shots than the day leaves room for, the estimate turns red.

  • A table that knows what a shot is

Tap a cell to edit it. Shot type, angle, movement, lens, equipment, frame rate and aspect ratio come as lists, with your own options added.

Add custom columns for what your production tracks.

  • From the script in one pass

Populate the list from the script and every scene arrives with a first pass of shots to edit. Or add scenes and shots yourself.

  • PDF for the crew

Export the list in script order or one shoot day at a time, with the columns you pick.

What a shot carries

  • Scene and shot number
  • Shot type, camera angle and movement
  • Lens, equipment, frame rate and aspect ratio
  • Storyboard frames, several per shot
  • Estimated time
  • Cast in the shot
  • Location, description and notes
  • Your own custom columns

How it works

  1. 1

    Add scenes and shots

Populate from the script or add them yourself.

  2. 2

    Assign shoot days

Give each shot a day, or a whole scene at once. The schedule builds itself from those days.

  3. 3

    Shoot from it

Export the day as a PDF, or open the list on a phone on set and tick shots off.

What Directors & Producers Say

Common questions

Can I build the shot list from the script?

Yes. Import the script or write it in CineLog, then populate the shot list. Every scene arrives with a first pass of shots, and you edit from there with the script beside the list.

How do the shot list and the schedule relate?

They share the same shoot days. Assign shots to a day and the scene's strip appears on the schedule. Move the strip and the shots move with it.

Can the crew edit the list at the same time?

Yes. Everyone you invite works in the same list, and changes show on every device as they happen. What each person can edit follows their role.

Does it work on set without signal?

Yes. Changes save to your device first and sync when you are back online. The PDF is built on your device too.

What does it cost?

The free plan includes one project with every tool, shot lists included. Filmmaker is $15 a month and Production Company is $40 a month. On every plan, the crew you invite does not pay for a seat.
