Script breakdown software for film
Select the words on the script page and file them under a category. Every prop, costume and vehicle rolls up into one list per production, and the cast is tagged for you.
Scene numbers lock when you start, so the breakdown survives every new draft.
The cast is tagged for you
Every character is tagged in every scene they speak in, and gets a numbered talent slot in cast and crew.
Cast numbers are assigned once and never reshuffled, so the paperwork keeps pointing at the same person.
Tag once, and it reaches the schedule and the call sheet
The cast numbers from the breakdown are on every strip of the schedule and on every call sheet, in order.
Nothing is retyped between the script, the board and the sheet.
A new draft keeps the breakdown
Scene numbers lock from the first tag, so a scene added before 12 becomes 11A and 12 stays 12.
Import the next draft and review the changes scene by scene before they land. The tags stay where they were.
-
Tag on the page, not in a spreadsheet
Drag across the words, pick one of twelve categories, press Tag. The text stays marked on the page, so a second read shows what is covered.
Wardrobe, makeup and special equipment use the classic paper marks.
-
Tag once, find it everywhere
Tag a revolver in scene 4, and CineLog offers the same word in every other scene. Take them all with one tap.
-
Breakdown sheets as PDF
A summary per scene, the full element list, or both, with a recipient watermark if you want one.

What Directors & Producers Say
Cinelog Saves Lives
"After using Cinelog on a recent commercial, our production team decided to implement it onto our feature film set. Every department was easily onboarded and being able to upload previs and our shots kept us moving."
Game Changer, don't Start Production Without it!
"I stumbled onto this app and gave it a shot, and it's completely changed how my team and I approach pre-production. Scripting, shot lists, storyboards, cast, crew, call sheets — it's all in one ecosystem, which makes team collaboration seamless and transitions us right into the production stage without missing a beat. It's clear this app was built for the film industry by people who actually work in it."
"Super useful for planning video shoots and getting everyone on the same page. I like that it can be clean and simple for smaller productions (like making a call sheet and basic shotlist), but has lots of customizability for bigger shoots too (in depth shotlist data, sending different crew members relevant info, storyboarding, etc)."
"As a commercial and film producer this app has helped my team tremendously in all our projects, either commercials or films, I can't recommend this app enough."
All in one production tool!
"I love how I have everything I need all in one place. I've been using this for all of my pre-production needs as I produce my first feature film and it's made my workflow way more efficient."
"Honestly, the best pre-production tool I’ve used so far. It’s clean, easy to use, and doesn’t overcomplicate things. I love that I can keep working on my phone even when I’m away from my PC, that flexibility is a game changer. Big thanks to the team for building something this practical and well thought out."
Incredible tool with a bright future
"CineLog is still fresh but most certainly off to the races. This tool does an incredible job of centralizing a chunk of your creative pre-production workflow items, and making them all work seamlessly with one another to help you spend less time complaining about tech and more time developing that film/commercial. Had to leave some room for improvement as the app is ever evolving and expanding with new ideas and feedback. The app creators have certainly done a fabulous job here so far and it's absolutely worth diving into for your next project."
Common questions
Does CineLog find the elements for me?
The cast, yes: every character is tagged and gets a numbered talent slot. Props, wardrobe and the rest you tag yourself, and after each tag CineLog offers the same words in the other scenes.
What happens to the breakdown when the script changes?
Scene numbers are locked from the first tag, so a new scene becomes 12A and a removed one becomes OMITTED. Tags stay on their scenes.
Can I break down an imported script?
Yes. Import FDX, Fountain, PDF, RTF or plain text and tag. A later draft comes in as a scene-by-scene review, so the breakdown is not wiped.
What do the breakdown sheets look like?
A PDF: one block per scene with the heading, the page length and the elements by category, and the element list for the whole production. Export either or both.
What does it cost?
The free plan includes one project with every tool, breakdown included. Filmmaker is $15 a month and Production Company is $40 a month. On every plan, the crew you invite does not pay for a seat.
